New HD

I partitioned and created a Linux e2fs filesystem on a newly installed 120
GB drive located at /dev/hdb and mounted in /mnt/spare/ in the helmet
machine.

We should at least be doing weekly or nightly backups to this filesytem,
if not switching completely to it some time in the future.
Unfortunately, I'm not an experienced cron(8) hacker.

I put the portable old drive (which previously would mount as read-only in
/mnt/removable on boot) on the CD-Rom cable.  I'm guessing that synonomous
to being unplugged.
