Hey all - So I wrote the folks at the Peace & Freedom Party about volunteering in Vermont, and THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING UP HERE! Can you believe it, with all the hippies and Granolas we have, the PEACE and FREEDOM Party hasn't taken off? Well, hopefully that can change, as they basically said that they want to get things started up here. Here's the form letter they sent to me, and I'm printing some of the petitions as I type. Anyone who wants to sign, let me know, we'll figure something out. Oh, and their website is www.peaceandfreedom.org, if you'd like to check it out (it's ugly - you could even volunteer any of your web design skills, if possible). ------------------------------------------------------ This is in response to your message to Mr. Bachrach regarding Leonard Peltier's presidential campaign. Mr. Bachrach referred your message to the Boston Area - Leonard Peltier Support Group for response. In the initial phase of the Peltier Campaign the primary focus will be to ensure that Leonard Peltier and his vice presidential candidate Barry Bachrach appear on the ballot throughout the United States. We recommend that you, first, find out if the Peace and Freedom Party is on your state's ballot. If so, you may be able to put Leonard directly on the ballot. If the Peace and Freedom Party is not on the Vermont ballot, we will need to obtain 1,000 valid signatures to get Peltier on the state's ballot. Our goal is 1,500 signatures by September 2. For information and the necessary form(s), we recommend that you Download from the Elections Division of the Secretary of State's web site. You also may wish to call 802-828-2464 for information and guidance. When you have succeeded in getting Leonard placed on your state's ballot, tell people about it. Tell the media. PELTIER IN 2004!
