I'm so bummed. None of the plot twist I mentioned happened at the end of Passion of the Christ. However, at the end when he comes alive (not unlike Peter Frampton), he is in the cave as this driving drum beat plays in the background. He stands to leave the cave and it seems as though the voiceover should say, "This time he's pissed!". This is not a joke. It's really weird the choice of background music. I thought the movie was well done and I did not see how, unless you hate Jewish people to begin with, could walk away blaming all jews of his death. Other than the temple establishment, many in the town were on his side. And they were all jews. There were some head scratching moments like when he wipes his face from a linen a bystander gives him and when he walks away you can see his face suggesting the future shroud of torin on the fabric (wasn't that supposed to happen magically from his resurrection?). Pilate, who was a brutal killer seemed to have a crush or something on Jesus b/c he tried to avoid killing him at all costs. And when he dies, the temple alter is ripped in half (never heard that one before). Other than those moments, I didn't see anything other than a well made film that will soon be forgotten on the movie rental shelves ala Last Temptation of Christ. Upon leaving the theater, I was tempted to shout out a spoiler to those waiting for the next show that he died in the end. On a completely different topic, here's an interesting site called Dear Mary where you can send postcards on a database (about 9,000 so far) that is addressed to Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter. She doesn't get them as it's an independent site. But it is very interesting.
