But also, the site includes civilians killed by other Iraqis and counts them as "due to military intervention" -- so this includes car bombings, hostages, etc. Some dispute that such deaths should be included since they weren't killed with American bullets, but I think as the occupying power we've failed to keep the peace and I do consider those deaths to be a direct result of our military intervention. Just something to keep in mind when throwing the figure around. The site is hard to beat in its comprehensiveness of citations of incident-by-incident reports in the press. I don't know of a similiar site for Afghanistan. For Palestine, I've found the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), a "subsididiary" of the Red Cross, has weekly press reports that give excellent incident-by-incident reports of Palestinian deaths and violations of the Geneva conventions by Israel with their military assaults against ambulances (which just happened again two days ago) and their daily delays in the PRCS duties to provide medical assistance to Palestinians. http://www.palestinercs.org/ > One more topic on Reagan.
