The first week of September is the week of the Republican National
Convention in New York City. It will prove to be a disgusting display of
wealth, conservatism and right-wing power politics. This cannot go
unnoticed without the Left in the US making some noise, demanding an end
to the war in Iraq, livable wages, universal healthcare, gay marriage,
etc.

August 29 is our chance to mass together for one last major anti-war
demonstration before the November elections. The rally that is being
organized is estimated to be huge. Everyone who opposes the war and the
Bush agenda should go down to New York City on Sunday the 29th. We need to
show the Bush administration that the country, and the world, does not
support their imperialistic aims.

The Peace and Justice Center are organizing two buses to go down to NYC
for the protest. They will leave in the very early hours of the 29th, stay
down for the day, and come back that evening. Tickets are on sale now for
$45, available at the Peace and Justice Center on Church Street in
Burlington.

There is also going to be a panel on Tues 24th, 7 pm, in Memorial Lounge
in the Waterman Building on the UVM campus, discussing the upcoming RNC,
the need for political alternatives, what we can do to end the Bush
Agenda. Tickets for the bus will also be available at this event.

Get on the Bus!
