Activists plan protest outside Giuliani talk

MONTPELIER, Vt. Emergency planning is the topic in Brattleboro for 
former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani tomorrow.
Demonstrators are expected to protest the visit by Giuliani -- who has a 
contract with Entergy Nuclear, the owner of the Vermont Yankee nuclear 
plant in Vernon.

Brattleboro activist Gary Sachs says a rally is planned outside the 
Quality Inn where Giuliani is to speak.

He says the rally will include both labor and anti-nuclear activists.

Giuliani's visit also coincides with the deadline for contract 
negotiations between Entergy Nuclear at unionized workers at the plant.

Entergy spokesman Brian Cosgrove says both sides are working hard to 
reach a settlement before the deadline of midnight tomorrow.
