I'm new. Hi John
Though I have only read a few posts . since I know at least one person
on this list I decided to shorten the standard period of lurking
The only thing that keeps me happy (thank god(s) I'm at least happy
despite all this) is the constant irony and hypocrisy that we are
presented each day . just when you think it can't get any more comedic .
and the hilariously transparent blindfolds the people around us wear. Of
course, you can't forget friends and family. but that's a given.
I wondered, for a while, what can I do to make a difference, even if it
is small?
I tried to help Dean, but the media showed us whose boss.
I want Kerry to win, but only to see Bush humiliated. Hell if I'm going
to help him directly. For this election, USA is on its own.
I was going about this decision process the wrong way . I decided to
understand what I *did* respect in this world. I respect Vermont and
Vermonters. I am a Vermonter living in the United States of America.

I want Vermont to secede from this nation and become a sovereign body,
accountable only to ourselves (oh and we get to keep our Air Guard).
Maybe then, and only then, can my dreams come true. True civil rights,
no more wars on nouns, no more wal-mart (but only because people just
decide not to shop there), no more "2" party system, smaller government,
a currency backed by something of real value (something tangible!),
premium education for all, airwaves owned by the public. oh the list
goes on . can I include free high speed internet access for all to the
list?
