Since this has been discussed before, let me ask... Do any of you think this is even reasonably possible? Can a country of 500k survive (with something comparable to our current standard of living) without a stellar export? Is there any reason that seceding would mean major changes in commerce between us and the rest of the USA? I see the act of secession as more of a "setting an example" kind of thing. Personally, I would be proud rejoin the union once things changed. We've set this example once before with NY and NH... I'll check out that website... thanks Nick =) > > From: [email protected] > Date: 2004/09/02 Thu AM 10:39:17 EDT > To: "list for the ballistic helmet heads" <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [ballistichelmet] Vermont...secede > > Hey Mike, long time no see. > > Check this old thread out : > http://your.ballistichelmet.org/pipermail/heads/2003-December/002014.html > > and if you're serious, go see Frank Bryan, a history professor at UVM. > Here's his website > > http://www.vermontrepublic.org/ > > > I'm new.
