-------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Scheme-Boston] Scheme Boston meeting: Tuesday, March 16, 2004 Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2004 10:38:25 -0500 From: Win Treese <[email protected]> To: [email protected] The next Scheme Boston meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:30 in room Egan 204 at Northeastern University in Boston. (Yes, it's the third Tuesday this month.) Proposal for a Scheme Filesystem Interface Taylor Campbell R5RS defines a very minimal interface to input, output, and file system manipulation. It is not comprehensive, and not very well-thought-out; for those reasons, most implementations of Scheme each define their own incompatible interfaces that cover necessity but very little beyond that. We propose a new report for an I/O system and a file system interface, based slightly on those of T and MIT Scheme, designed to be: - comprehensive, - carefully thought out, - practical, but with _only_ the necessary practicality in mind, - elegant & simple, but not limitingly so, and - extensible _______________________________________________ Scheme-boston-announce mailing list [email protected] http://www.treese.org/mailman/listinfo/scheme-boston-announce _______________________________________________ Scheme-boston mailing list [email protected] http://www.treese.org/mailman/listinfo/scheme-boston
