Creating Systems that are Simultaneously Usable and Secure
Simson L. Garfinkel

Abstract

It is widely believed that security and usability are two antagonistic
goals in system design. This thesis argues that there are many instances
in which security and usability can be synenergistically improved through
the use of good design principles. Some such principles are enumerated and
then justified through a series of case studies.
