Big Brew Book 2.0

I have posted the outline for the Big Brew Book 2.0 under the  
Mixmaster's section of the GoBiodiesel website. You can find the

2006. If you are a Luddite or otherwise feel uncomfortable posting to

Here is a quick guide to editing your section on the GoBiodiesel web  
site:
The concept:
Our web site uses a Wiki engine, which allows anyone in the world to  
edit a page of the website right from their browser. Simply click an  
edit link and away you go. To have fancy formatting with headers,  
subheaders, bullet lists, etc, you have to know a few simple  
characters that the Wiki engine will know to convert into the proper  
formatting. I've written up a very simple guide to basic formatting  
tags to use.

A simple guideline to using the Wiki format:

1) Any page that has an edit link is editable. Just click the word  
"edit" and you will be given the page contents in a form field box,  
which you can edit with your browser. When you are done editing, you  
can click "Preview" to preview what your edits will look like. If you  
are satisfied with your changes, you should then click "Save" to post  
those changes live to the web site for all the world to see.

2) When not creating headlines or bullet lists, just plain paragraphs  
of text will format as plain paragraphs of text.

3) To create a heading (larger text over a paragraph to title that  
section), put two equal signs, ==, in front and at the end of your  
heading,
e.g.: ==A Sample Header==
You can divide any web page into main headings and then break those  
down into subheadings. You can further break subheadings down into  
subsubheadings, simply by adding more equals signs.
To create subheadlines, use more equal signs. The more signs the  
lower the headline level.
e.g. ==A Main Header==, ===A Secondary Header===, ====A Tertiary  
Header====
(note: Because the Brew Book Outline is already organized into an  
outline of top level headlines, when you write your section you  
should use only subheadings or lower, e.g. ===, three or more equals  
signs on each side of your headlines.


4) To create a bullet list use either a single asterisk, *, or a  
single pound, #, at the beginning of your list item,
e.g. *a list item, or #another list items.
Asterisks, *, give you bullets, while pound, #, gives you numbers.

5) To create indented items under a bullet list item, use more than  
one asterisk or pound (like the headers),
e.g. **a nested list item or ##a nested numbered list item. The  
exception to this rule is if you are mixing asterisks and pounds. To  
nest asterisk items beneath a pound item, you just use one asterisk;  
conversely, nesting a pound item beneath an asterisk item, use just  
one pound, e.g.

*Bullet list item one
*Bullet list item two
#List item two A
#List item two B

6) EXAMPLE

The following is an example of what you would get using headlines and  
bullets:

If you type the following in your text editor:

===Welcome to my Brew Book Section===

My name is Jane. This text will show up as a paragraph.
Here is an unnumbered bullet list:
*One Fish
*Two Fish
*Red Fish
*Blue Fish

Here is a numbered list of my items:
#My intro
#My main section
#My conclusion
#A Nifty Appendix
*Glossary
*Bibliography
*Famous cat names


You then click "Preview" on the web page you will see the following:

(Note: see how adding asterisks directly underneath pounds in a list  
automatically indents those items under the last pound item?)
