MixMaster Calendar

If you are planning to train as a mixmaster and you would like to  
attend fuel-making sessions, you should use our new Google Mixmaster  
Calendar to sign up for an available slot. The more people we have  
making fuel, the more successful we will be as a cooperative. We plan  
on selling our excess fuel to small emerging nations to raise money  
for our Second Generation Fuel Processor.

This calendar system is new and we'll probably run into problems with  
it. If you have difficulty signing up for work, email me.

Anyone is welcome to come and help make fuel, as long as there is a  
lead present and there is not already enough people that day to help.  
That's where this calendar comes in.

With this calendar, any coop member will know when fuel is being made  
and by whom. And mixmasters will be able to sign up for days they  
wish to help make fuel. Mixmaster leads will meet once a month to  
book themselves for fuel-making days. Afterwards, mixmaster  
apprentices can choose to work on any of the days the leads have  
chosen. It's very simple.

All we ask is that you sign up for a day that has less than two  
apprentices signed up. There are only so many people who can make  
fuel at a time and spreading ourselves out, we can make more fuel. If  
we make enough fuel, we can pretty much start ruling the universe. If  
all the slots are full and you want to make fuel, you should email  
the mixmaster list and try and talk a mixmaster lead into working an  
additional day of the month. For obvious reasons, those who aren't  
experienced making fuel so not be down there making it by themselves.

MIXMASTERS: HOW TO USE THE CALENDAR TO SIGN UP TO MAKE FUEL

A few simple instructions. Please read them carefully.

Do Sign up to help make fuel on days already scheduled with a  
mixmaster lead.
Don't sign up for days not already scheduled by a mixmaster lead.
Do sign up on a day where there are not two mixmaster apprentices  
already scheduled.
Don't sign up for a day where two mixmaster apprentices have already  
scheduled.


USING THE CALENDAR

1. You will need to create a Google user account with the email  
address that THIS email address came to. If you already have a Google  
account with this address, you don't need to create one. If you are  
going to use a different email address for your Google account,  
please forward this to me so I can add it to your record in the  
MixMaster database.

If this link doesn't work, go to Google, https://www.google.com,  
click the link in the upper left corner, Sign In, and then find the  
link to create a new account.

Once you click the link and log into your Google account, you will be  
asked if you want to add the mixmaster calendar to your list of  
shared calendars. Say yes.


3. Switch to month view. It is easier to see what days are available.  
If things are working correctly, you should be viewing the  
GoBiodiesel - MixMasters calendar. Under your list of "Other  
Calendars" on the left the MixMaster calendar should be showing and  
should be checked.

4. To sign up to work, you should *click a day that already has a  
lead's name on it*. Example:

Lead: Tom Tricola.

Click on a part of the day that is not already an event, ie below the  
last name showing in the white area of the day rectangle. (If you  
click on an existing name, you will get a pop-up that asks if you  
want to edit that event. Click cancel or the x in the upper right  
corner of the pop-up.

5. You'll be creating a new event for that same day. You are going to  
call this event by your FULL name. A pop-up window will appear asking  
you "What:" In the field next to it, you will enter your FULL name.

6. Click the create event button. After a few short moments, your  
name will appear on the calendar for that day.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE

* If you have problems with the MixMaster Calendar, email me or call  
me at 971-563-2477.
* Names are listed alphabetically for each day on the calendar, but  
only one name should have "LEAD" in front of it.
* This is a trial run with an online calendar. If it doesn't work  
well, we will switch to a different one. Give feedback to how well it  
is working for you.
* It was good meeting so many new people yesterday and in the last  
week. I look forward to working with lots of interesting people while  
making fuel.
* Use the mixmaster mailing list to let people know what you did, if  
you have a scheduling concern, if you had questions about what work  
you did, or just wanted to discuss something.
* Remember to log your hours in the Carma Tracker. This is the coop's  
database for managing how many hours you have worked. It's one of the  
first links in the Member's Section of the GoBiodiesel web site. You  
already logged your hours for yesterday, right?
