Here's an interesting article that talks about treating B20 with Lubrizol
LZ7670, resulting in -12?F. CFPP (Cold Filter Plugging Point) compared to
+4?F. CFPP with base diesel (#2). The CFPP is less conservative than the
cloud point, by the way.
http://www.biodiesel.org/pdf_files/fuelfactsheets/Cold%20Flow.PDF They
alsotalk about blending "appropriate amounts" of kerosene. Short of tank
heaters, Kelly's solution sounds petty good ...

I have found over the past six years that there is not too much to worry
about until the weather drops below 29 deg F. For reliable gel prevention I
keep an eye on the forecast and put in some petro-diesel (gulp, my dirty
little secret's out). I keep ten gallons of emergency petro diesel in the
shop during the winter. There's nothing like draining 15 gal of gelled
biodiesel out of the tank drain of a truck in 12 inches of snow the night
after thanksgiving to make you promise yourself to plan ahead.

I've found that the best temperature resistance is with B50 down to about
-10 F.

30s for the next night or two, I was curious what everyone is doing to ward
off the cloud monsters and keep their biodiesel rigs running. Please share
if you are using any additives, a higher level of petro, or what.
