Things we missed on Saturday

Friends,

Thinking about some of the items we discussed on Saturday....

1. We agreed that blending High and Low FFA oil would be a good thing to
do after our process tolerances are established. We didn't leave any
room for that in the feedstock tank layout.... we might want to think
about that before we get too carried away. We may need to do a push to
characterize our feedstock so we can sort and mix on the way to
preheat. We may need to look into a band heater for the oil storage
tote as well. We may also be able to use the feedstock tote to do that
- we can mix 150 gal of oil in the tote and use the same chemistry in
all 3 batches we react, then mix the 150 gal while the first in
reacting... what say you all?

2. There was rain water in the oil collection tank (more than Pete
wanted to admit to!). Before we start using that tank, we should
consider putting a drain in the bottom for water. Seth's big objection
to using old heating oil tanks was that there was all sorts of crud in
the bottom and if you ever got it out, the bottom was rusted because
there had been water sitting there. I see the same thing happening to
our oil collection tank. We might want to consider a 1" tap for a
heater element as well.

Thanks again for everyone's help on Saturday - great results.

Felix
