Site work update

A lot was accomplished this sunny Saturday in large part thanks to help from Rick Reynolds (non-member and not even a diesel owner; just wanted to help out and learn a bit more about the coop! Huge thanks to Rick for his help!):
tested ph of wash water (after Felix confirmed it already had ~5 washes) and water tested neutral (though, I have some questions on effective wash water testing -see below); fuel in wash tote looked AMAZING!! Super clear
So, transferred ~100 gal out of wash tote to dryer and dried for ~3 hrs (it might be ready to go right now, especially with all the heat we had
completed emptying 2 WVO totes on the fence, set one up for waste water and started to put some waste water in (apologies, I realized now I didn't label this tote, its in the area of the other waste water totes; call me if you have any questions -704-4555); the other is emptied as much as we could (~1 gal of WVO left on bottom) and sitting next to the other WVO totes near Jeff's fuel barrels -maybe use this one for more WVO or 2nd wash tote? If wash tote, really needs to be cleaned out!
cut and cleared vines and blackberries in several areas near fence
worked to re-set the wooden support on it footing and did some bracing (with finished fuel in that tote, we need to be careful and make sure we reinforce properly)
transferred 100 gal of raw biod from Jeff white barrels to wash tote and left it; no washes done (ran out of time)
What I am working to show here is a decent amount of work was accomplished by just two people. But think how much could of been done if we had 8-10!?! That is not the fault of anyone on this list expect me. I failed to let anyone know there would be a work party. To help prevent this, I am asking the board to help out in finding folks to step up. Brian, Cheryl, Gary: can you help mobilize one or two others to be contacting members and sending announcements for work parties and coordinating off-site tasks and things needed to be picked up / purchased. More importantly I guess, how are we doing on getting that paid fuel maker/site organizer? As I have been saying I am filling the role of site coordinator, the reality is, my time is being spent doing the tasks on site as we have so few people who know enough about the specifics of what's going on at the site, that site efforts time i
s the best use of my time. I can't afford the time to do that work and then also be
calling people, crafting meeting announcement communications, etc.
Bottom line, myself, Zac, Felix can rattle off a number of things that need to get done on site. We just need some people to say, "Yes, I can give some time to the coop". What I can tell you we need right now, until we have the paid fuel maker position filled, are a few members to step up and want to lead work parties. Whose interested?!
There are also a number of fuel making/washing/testing tasks that I am wondering if anyone has specific knowledge of:
water pH testing: is there a good recipe on qty of water to test with how much phenolphthalein? I used ~50mL H2O with 5 droplets of phenolphthalein
Other than Zac, who has done 3/27 test at our coop site? I would like to see the mechanics in doing that at our site
What other tests should we be doing to ensure quality fuel?
Other than Karen, who has neutralized waste water? Can someone define the specifics in acid used and qtys so I and others can do this; what safety concerns need to be addressed/followed?
what is our assurance that fuel is ready to be moved from dryer to distribution? Should we take a sample and do a boiling test to see if water still there?
Thanks much for listening/reading if you made it this far. As its been stated before, our coop site now has enormous amounts of fuel on-site! We just need you to help finish it up!
