Gregory - hmmm. This is why I'd almost rather just buy the lengths of hoses (and 0-rings, if necessary) myself, via the Internet, and then give them to my regular mechanic to install, given that his specialty is diesel trucks, and he's done good work for me in terms of getting the truck running. I have the shop manuals for the engine, which I'm sure must have all the part numbers listed, although it's a pretty daunting volume, and I'd want to consult a mechanic to make sure i don't miss anything. Does anyone know a way to just order these parts directly from the manufacturer? and Jeff - thanks for your advice - my fuel lines are actually pretty new right now, so it's good to know i'll be able to get a few months use out of them before they start melting! now all i need is a pump key and a new fuel filter! I have had a couple of conversations with greaseworks and they said they do have a kit for the 6.9l Ford diesel, but they did not inspire a lot of confidence as far as I was concerned with knowledge of the engine. > > A diesel mechanic I have talked to mentioned the injector return lines, rubber caps on the injectors and an o-ring in the injector as all being natural ruber as well as short hose pieces from the fuel tanks to the hard lines. Greaseworks was unclear on the lengths of the return lines and clueless on the o-rings. > > Greg Rohde > 503-629-5475 > > emma dupin <[email protected]> wrote: Hi, > > I'm looking for some assistance in finding a mechanic in the Portland > area (close to southeast, if possible, but I'm willing to drive out to > the suburbs, too) who would be able to replace my fuel hoses on my '86 > F-250 with viton ones - my current mechanic simply didn't know where to > get them. > > I'd really like to get her running on biodiesel a.s.a.p. - any > recommendations would be greatly appreciated. > > Thanks, > Emma > _______________________________________________ > pdx-biodiesel mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.gobiodiesel.org/mailman/listinfo/pdx-biodiesel > > > > --------------------------------- > Talk is cheap.
