...We are likely only a couple of weeks away from a methanol recovery 
system.
We need people to take a lead on this. We also need to address how to
dispose the "bottom of the barrel" scum and execute the plan....

I have an idea, assuming this scum is on the bottom of the grease barrels.  
What do you think about mixing the scum with sawdust, shredded paper or wood 
chips, then compressing it into bricks?  They could then be used for 
burning, perhaps in a oil pre-heating system outside or perhaps a home wood 
stove, depending on how stinky it is.  Sorry, I only have the idea, not the 
time to develop it.
