Re: TDI sales

While we're on the subject, I thought I'd annouce that shortly I'll be
letting go of my 2005 Golf TDI.  I'm moving to New York City tomorrow and
won't be bringing the car with me.  I wasn't able to get my stuff together
fast enough to sell the car this week, so I'll be back for a week in
November to sell it.  I figured I'd at least give the beloved biodiesel
community advance notice of this gem... here are the specs:

2005 GLS Golf TDI
4 door
Manual Trans.
Less than 25000 miles
Anthracite Blue exterior, dark grey cloth interior
Immaculate condition, basically brand new car
Monsoon Sound
Heated Seats
Moonroof
Plus all the other extras that you already know about in the GLS

The scoop is that it BREAKS MY HEART to have to sell this car :(  But, alas,
I am going car-less in New York and we all have to admit that it is indeed
better for the environment than even our beautiful BioD.

Anyway, I looked and looked and looked for this car for over a year and
finally found it in New Jersey in April.  Bought it there and drove it back
to Portland (much like the advice given earlier by Jerry).  This is
certainly a viable solution for those looking for TDI's but you should note
that prices have been catching up to the NW all over the country in the last
6 months.  Also, this method takes a TON of patience and is not for the
logistically weak at heart :)

I'll be asking $21,500 for the car, which I think is quite fair for the
market out here.  The Green Car Co. has a 2004 with approx. the same mileage
for the same price.  Mine's a whole year newer (have longer on the warranty)
and local.  They also have a 2004 with 38K miles for 20,900.

Let me know if anyone's interested.  I'm not sure exactly when I'll be back
in Nov. but if someone is very interested we can lay down some plans for
that.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful Biodiesel community and coop here in
Portland, it's been really great watching the Coop grow and being a part of
it all.  I'll miss it very much!
