By way of comparison, we bought an '05 TDI golf from an Oregon seller several months ago. It had ~13k miles, and we paid 21,900 for it. I have since seen several older Golfs (e.g. 2003) with more mileage (e.g. 25K) go for more money (or at least list on CL for more money, whether they actually sold I dunno). I would suggest the following: 1) use all the free listings you can, most are linked from http://www.nwbiodiesel.org/default.aspx/BiodieselVehicles (scroll about halfway down) including Willamette Week, etc. 2) try some nearby markets but outside OR/WA, e.g. Boise, SF Bay Area, etc.? Northern CA has a lot of BioD going on too, after all and since you aren't selling a new car, you aren't likely to run into the same issues VW and the rest do re dealerships, etc. 3) a picture is worth a thousand words - get some good, detailed photos of it up on ofoto or similar and link them from your CL posting - it DEFINITELY helps! 4) watch and wait. I sold my Karmann-Ghia several years ago to the ONLY buyer who answered my Seattle Times ad - remember that you only need one, but it may help to put in the 'no tire-kickers, please' disclaimer in your ad? good luck! kevin Seattle > I wrote in to the list a couple of months ago to let everyone know that I > was going to be putting up my 2005 Golf TDI for sale on Craig's List, and > give the Co-op first crack at it.
