Plastic plus hot oil plus electricity seems a recipe for a mess or a fire,
although many people seem to use this method. All I can say is I'd watch it
like a hawk every minute it was on.

Aluminum and methoxide do will react chemically, and not in a good way. Put
some foil in some methoxide and you'll see what I mean.

Stainless works great, but so do water heaters.

Subject: [pdx-biodiesel] making a processor

I plan to build my own processor. I am thinking about using a plastic tank
that has a cone shap bottom as the processor. I have also considered using
a aluminum tank for the processor, plastic to mix the methanol with KOH.
I hear that stainles steal is best but that seems expensive to me.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks, John
