Some of you may know Joanna Karl, straw and cob builder extraordinaire. Joanna was also the founder and leader of the Appropriate Technology Group while living here in Portland. Five years ago Joanna moved to Corvallis to pursue her dream of building a straw bale home. On Friday, February 29th while working on her home,  Joanna had a fatal fall. In honor of Joanna¢s life, there will be a memorial at Mt. Tabor Park on Sunday, March 9th at 4pm. We will meet in the middle of the grassy area to share stories and honor this very inspiring woman. For those of you who knew her, please come join us. For those of you who didn¢t know Joanna but want to hear about an amazing woman who was an environmental builder, contra dancer and war tax resister you¢re welcome to join us too.
