The Archery Range is still closed during LANL working hours!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pleased to report that I have just now received permission from the
ENV-ECO-Land Transfer office at LANL to reopen our facilities on the north
side of the road. This means that the rifle range, the pistol ranges, the
indoor range and the shotgun facilities are now open seven days a
week. There is a cautionary note, however. The archery range is not
opened yet because there has been significant vandalism on the fences and
equipment on the south side of the road. If there is vandalism on the
rifle range side, then we will have to shut down while KSL crews repair
that damage. If there is no vandalism on the rifle range side, then we
will be open seven days a week until mid or late May when the field crews
resume their work. The message is that if you observe vandals at work,
call the police or at least call me at 665-3869. The vandalism is hurting
us directly, and we should not tolerate it.

The archery range will be open during the week during the Lab's holiday
closure, beginning 24 December and ending 3 January. The archery range
will be closed during the week beginning 3 January.

Marv,

Our archeology crews are officially done with this seasons work. KSL has
finished the Rifle Range fence and we feel it is safe for the Rifle Range
to re-open.

Please do not open the Archery Range yet. The fence has been damaged by
vandals. We will repair that fence but we assume it will be a battle to
keep that side of the road fenced. We will access this after the break.

Happy Holidays,

Mary Jo
