The following messages was sent from NRA-ILA: Subject: Texas To Recognize New Mexico Concealed Carry Permits! Date: Tue, 4 Jan 2005 13:42:07 -0500 Just before the New Year, Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) and Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott (R) issued a proclamation announcing that Texas will recognize New Mexico carry permits. New Mexico currently has no reciprocal provision in its carry law, so Texas CHLs are not currently valid in this state. However, legislation is expected to be considered in the 2005 session of the New Mexico Legislature that could authorize the NM Department of Public Safety to enter into reciprocal agreements with other states, including Texas. ========================================================== I will endeavor to keep you informed of further developments. /s/ Michael R.
