No CCW renewal class at Aug 5 IDPA shoot

There will NOT be the usual  CCW NM renewal & Utah CCW class at the IDPA 
shoot on Saturday 8/5/06, since we just did  full & renewal/Utah classes 2 
weeks ago. Next CCW class  is scheduled for Oct 13 & 14, if demand warrants. 
The majority of those who requested the full July class never showed up, so 
we will require non-refundable deposits in the future. It takes a lot of 
effort to put on a class as unpaid volunteers, and if we don't have a dozen 
confirmed  students we won't run the Oct class.  Next class after Oct will 
be after Spring thaw. Note: we still made about $1200 for the club from the 
July class, largely on renewals! Thanks to all those who DID attend, you all 
were a great class to teach.

I just checked prices at Frontisght for their "30 state" CCW classes. The 
training is excellent (I'm taking their 4-day-each classes for UZI,  M16, 
and combat shotgun this fall). However, the cost is $400 for CCW class - 
AFTER you take the $800 or $1600 pistol class, plus hotels, car & airfare. 
And, the class doesn't cover NM CCW.  Our NM & Utah CCW class also covers 30 
states (NV & NM don't overlap). ANY of the LASC training classes are a great 
bargain, and the members should take full advantage of the opportunities the 
club offers!!
