The Rifle Range and the Outdoor Pistol Ranges will be closed all day
on Monday through Thursday beginning the 19th of October. (That's next week.)

The LANL/LANS transition and the FY07 budget issues delayed the
sampling process by a month or so, but the initial sampling is
scheduled to begin next week. The actual start date depends on an
accelerated procurement, so it is possible that the field activities
could be delayed a week or or. Despite the can get a uncertainty
with the schedule, we need to plan on the geologists arriving next
Wednesday, and going into the field on Thursday.

Field activities will take place Monday through Thursday. The field
crews will not be working down range on Fridays. The rifle range and
pistol pits will be closed all day Monday through Thursday, and then
will be open all day Friday through Sunday. Because the sampling has
been delayed, the field crews will be working longer days. It will
not be possible for us to open for the last hour of the day as I had
previously hoped.

The shotgun ranges and the indoor range will remain open Monday
through Thursday, as will the archery range.

There are three Munitions Impact Sites "downrange" from the
Sportsmen's club. These were re-mediated more than ten years ago.
However, as part of the land transfer process, the State of New
Mexico is requiring that samples be taken from these sites. Because
these impact areas are downrange from the pistol pits, and the access
road is downrange from the rifle range, both the pistol pits and the
rifle range will be closed while the geologists are in the field.

Watch the website for updates. I will attempt to update the website
on a dialy basis.
