bull elk landowner tags still available for Unit 6C $500

Bob Ferran (672-9156) asked me to get the word out to the LASC membership 
that he has 4 bull elk landowner tags for sale at reduced price for Unit 6C 
(east side of Jemez mtns). This is for a Unit-wide hunt under the Game & 
Fish E-PLUS system, so you are not restricted to his land. You may hunt 
anywhere in Unit 6C, just like a public draw tag (in return for Bob's tag 
allotment, his ranch is open to all licensed public draw hunters as well). 
Normally he gets $1500 for a bull tag, but he had family of 4 hunters cancel 
at the last minute due to a family crisis. Since it is short notice he is 
only asking $500 each for the bull tags, which is less than many charge for 
cow tags. The hunt would be the last bull hunt, Nov 4-8. Please contact Bob 
directly if you are interested, this is all I know. However, I checked the 
G&F regs, and it explicitly says if you drew for a public license you cannot 
exchange it for a landowner tag (otherwise I'd have swapped one for my cow 
tag). Also, informed rumor (i.e., from Bob) has it our own Larry Baca picked 
up one of Bob's tags last time this happened, and he got his elk and was 
home by lunch on the first day.
