Well everyone its about time for the April 07 IDPA Match.

As I said in my last mailing I will try and not make it to much of an April Fool's match. Set up will be at 9 am ( for those who have been to our matches you know I will be there early, Hint, Hint, Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge..... )

We will be shooting outdoors, and I plan on setting up at least 4 stages. This means that if we as a group decide to shoot more we will have to rearrange one or more stages. (can you tell that I want to shoot more)

You will need to bring at least 150 rounds of ammunition, a concealment holster and a concealment garment ( like I have said in the past I wear an old flannel or jean shirt that has had the sleeves cut off). Any type of vest that will conceal your firearm from the front, back and sides when your arms are extended at 90 degrees will work.

We will have stages that require movement and possibly kneeling so come prepared. If the weather turns to rain we will work around any stage that would put you in the mud. As of this writing the pits are dry, but that can change as we all know.

As Steve Chipera say's... Here is the fine print:

Come prepared for the weather, during the CCW class on 24-25 March we had to shoot indoors on Saturday due to the cold and snow and by 9:30 on Sunday we were sweating outdoors.

Eye and ear protection are always Mandatory for any one in the pistol pits during the match, this includes spectators. Make sure that your eye protection is safety rated. Occasionally there can be ricochets or parts of jackets/lead that can fly back when we are shooting at steel targets.

We will be using all of the pits for the match, so they will be closed to recreational shooting during the match.

The cost for the match is still the same, $5.00 per handgun that you are using. If you wish to use more than one handgun please see me before the match so that we can go over the safety area's that are allowed to use for changing to your other handgun.

We run a COLD Range for the matches, so if you have a Concealed Carry Permit and plan on shooting, please go to a safe area (any pistol bay that is unoccupied) and clear your handgun or switch to your match handgun (unloaded of course) before approaching the meeting area. We will run a safety briefing before the match for those that have never shot IDPA before. If you are a new shooter, please see me during sign in if you have any questions. Remember that there are no dumb questions except those that are not asked, (dumb answers are free of charge as usual).

If you have any questions please contact me before the match so that I can try and get back to you before Saturday.

Side note: If you want to shoot a stage in a 3 gun style let me know before the match and we will do that after the normal match in the covered Range or the 3rd pit where we have 30 to 50 yards.
