I think Brett's message, below, didn't get through to anybody else besides
fairuse-discuss. It includes a contact address.

Let's put this behind us now . . .

Greeting-

Recently a number of folks on the fairuse-discuss list have sent emails
asking to be unsubscribed and stating that they never asked to be on the
list.

Please be assured that if you are on one of our lists, it is because
you either sent an email to [email protected], or you signed up with
New Yorkers for Fair Use at a street outreach session, giving us your email
address with the indication that you wanted to be kept up to date with
developments that affect your rights in the digital age. There was a
technical problem with the mailing list system recently, and as a result
some folks who had not signed up for certain lists were re-subscribed
incorrectly. At this point that problem is sorted out and if you feel you
are on the wrong list it can be taken care of by sending email to
[email protected]. Some of you may be seeing chatter for the first
time, since the lists have been fairly slow in very recent weeks.

Information about the mailing lists at nyfairuse.org can always be
found in a link on the nav bar at the left side of any page in the site.

I am sorry for any problem our technical issues may have caused anyone.
