which pretty much covers already most of what one could criticize. I
just want to stress on the IMO most important rule of being polite.
Everything else is just gravy. Although, I have to say that it really
was a pain to extract the info from all the scattered threads.

What the URL above doesn't mention is the use of short-links. I don't
see a reason to use them in a mailing list and there are good reasons
not to use them if there are not necessary, like transparency and
reliability.
