CALL FOR PAPERS
Scope
E-Learning has been adopted and endorsed by some of the most prestigious un=
iversities. Stanford, Harvard and MIT are leading the way with highly succe=
ssful online course programs, congruent with a prominent movement towards u=
niversal access to quality information and education. This movement has als=
o disrupted the publishing industry, allowing many students to access valua=
ble research through a myriad of open access journals.
Businesses and non-profits, such as Coursera and the Khan Academy, are offe=
ring incredible courses for anyone and everyone. The London School of Econo=
mics even provides diplomas for international students via distance learnin=
g, allowing them to access the incredible human capital of their institutio=
n with the click of a button.
This conference will assess the most progressive and exciting ideas for the=
future of e-Learning. This is truly an incredibly valuable movement as we =
move towards a flatter information structure for anyone who wants to learn.

Workshop proposals
The eLEOT 2014 Conference caters for a limited number of workshops on dedic=
ated session topics.
Workshops provide the opportunity to introduce, discuss, and review a topic=
of interest within the context of the conference. Proposals will be evalua=
ted regarding relevance and anticipated interest, and should include Worksh=
op title, presenter information, abstract, and intended audience.
A proposal to organize a workshop should include the following information:=
(1) the title of the workshop, (2) name, affiliation and biographies of th=
e organizer, (3) an abstract of no more than one page describing the aims o=
f the workshop and the motivation for holding it and participating to it (t=
arget audience), (4) a workshop chair and a tentative list of participants =
/ speakers, (5) the expected duration of the workshop, (6) a draft CFP of t=
he workshop. Workshop sessions are expected to last 90-120 minutes, but a w=
orkshop may comprise multiple sessions. For submission instructions, please=

Online Track
eLEOT 2014 welcomes submissions from presenters who will not be able to att=
end the conference in person. To be able to participate through this track =
you will be required to meet the date, topic and publication requirements f=
or the main conference. The main spirit of the online track is to =1B$B!H=
=1B(BWalk the Talk=1B$B!I=1B(B, so those participating only online will be =
required to create an interactive presentation that will be available throu=
gh Open Course Builder. More information is available on the conference web=
site.
Participation to this track is limited to 20 accepted papers.
Student Track
We also invite papers for a special student (Masters or PhD) track that wil=
l provide a venue for students to present their work and receive feedback =
from senior members of the research community. Student papers may include =
thesis plans, proposed research, as well as partial or complete research re=
sults already obtained. Papers should clearly state the stage at which the=
candidate is at in their PhD or Master (i.e. number of years of study comp=
leted), and should follow the regular conference format. Each paper will be=
reviewed by selected members of the program committee. Please select the a=
ppropriate track when submitting your work at http://confy.eai.eu/.
Papers presented at the Student track will also be considered for a Best Pa=
per Award. The Award is sponsored by MediaSoft S.r.l.
Panels
The first International Conference on e-Learning, e-Education and Online Tr=
aining is soliciting panels for the 2014 conference. Panels give the commun=
ity a unique opportunity to bring together academics and professionals from=
a wide variety of backgrounds to discuss a common theme.
The panel theme for this year's conference is "Shared Experiences: Bringing=
distributed students together to complete a common goal".
Paper Submission
Papers should be no more than 8 pages in length. Complete formatting and su=
bmission instructions can be found on the conference web site. Submissions =
will be reviewed anonymously by at least three expert reviewers.
Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. S=
ubmitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration f=
or another conference or journal.
Submission of the paper implies agreement of the author(s) to attend the co=
nference and present the paper if accepted. For additional information see =

Publication
Accepted papers will be published in the eLEOT Conference Proceedings and b=
y Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST). The proceedings wi=
ll be available both in book form and via the SpringerLink digital library,=
which is one of the largest digital libraries online and covers a variety =
of scientific disciplines. LNICST volumes are submitted for inclusion to le=
ading indexing services, including DBLP, Google Scholar, ACM Digital Librar=
y, ISI Proceedings, EI Engineering Index, CrossRef, Scopus and Zentralblatt=
Math, as well as ICST's own EU Digital Library (EUDL).
The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended versio=
n of their work through one of the following EAI endorsed publications:
