At risk of inciting a flamewar (and _really_ *not* wanting another one), 
I feel the FSFE is slightly too euro-centric in itself.
I don't mean to upset any UK or other wise FSFE volunteers, because at 
the end of the day we all have the same goals, more or less, and where 
ever you do them, thats good. However as various people have stated - 
the UK is under represented in my opinion, either by the FSFE, the FSF, 
the AFFS or $other_group.

Personally I'm not sure who's flag we should "fall under" as it were, 
and don't think anyone would find this an easy thing to consider.

The argument for a separate organisation has disadvantages, just like 
the other two options.

To reiterate what Paul said though, there are some pockets of activity 
throughout the country and supporting those and nurturing them is 
definitely something one should be doing, whatever organisation they 
affiliate with - ok not *whatever* - i was only referring to 
Associations and Foundations of Free Software.

Unfortunately I can't put in time like that, but if i *could* I am in no 
doubt I *would*, though I doubt i could be vastly useful with my level 
of experience..

Anyway, I'm not sure 20-30 hours etc is required. I suspect 10 hours a 
week would make people feel the difference.

*If* we collaborated closely and put one hour in, could we achieve at 
least *some* productivity, which might _start_ us moving until someone 
found the time?
