Every meeting we start with an opportunity for informal key signing. For an explanation of what this is about see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_signing_party =3D=3D=3D Talk =3D=3D=3D The main part of the meeting will be a talk with free discussion. Meltdown and Spectre are security vulnerabilities in many modern CPUs. An Operating System (OS) relies on memory isolation and restriction for security; but with these hardware security vulnerabilities this security can be indirectly breached. This has severe and wide-ranging implications; from virtualisation to browsers running JavaScript. The talk will cover the vulnerabilities, the Free Software responses and the long term effects on the user's control of their computing. There are paid parking lots around the venue, they are marked by a blue P in this OpenStreetMap centred on Madlab <http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=3D15/53.4843/-2.2365>.
