Dear All,
This is a new organization (http://www.mipi.org) founded by the mobile
industry leaders; ARM, Nokia, STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments.
Intel is going also to join soon. The main objective is to develop Open
Industry standards for Hardware and Software interfaces with processors
used in mobile applications.
Through these open standards, the MIPI Alliance intends to speed
deployment of new services to mobile users by establishing
specifications for standard hardware and software interfaces to mobile
application processors and encouraging the adoption of those standards
throughout the industry value chain.
The OpenRisc as an open source processor architecture to be used in
mobile applications like what HA is doing in OFOQ (PDA) project should
pay an attention to be consistent with this trend in open standard HW/SW
interfaces. It is just for your information that the industry is
attempting to generate new OPEN interfacing standards. It seems that it
sounds a bell that Open Technology is the best for consistency in future
industry applications ....

Best Regards,
