FEC1/3,2/3 +Scrambler Details!

I tried to study the function, operation, processing and the data-flow
to the FEC1/3 and the FEC2/3 in order to explain the details of these
components in the HW specs document. (I hardly know C ) , So I faced
some troubles. 
Can any one inspect the files and provide us with details. 
My objective is to know where the inputs are coming from to the
components and in which format and what the FEC will generate and when
we use the FEC 1/3 and when FEC 2/3 and what is done while extraction
and correction. 
Hence, Details and scenario is required in order to finalize the design
spec of the Data_path...

The same for this would be applied also to the whitening component
