Convert a family of scripts to a Zope/Plone Product

Hi Dhyani,

In relation to Mallikarjun request:

Ultimately most of the scripts we are going to develop have to be  
ported and available as products to the community.
They have to be self-included, autonomous scripts, that can work on any  
arbitrary Plone 2 site.

Of course, some of them may have dependencies on a global  
framework/library that we may decide to develop, but still, that core  
framework/library should also be a product, to be referenced properly  
by the other Vasudeva Service products.

Let's have a look at some of the scripts we need to develop as product  
in the near future (current year I hope!):

(They are not in any priority order)

My Library
Admin/member stats
Running log
Race manager
Yahoo Group mirror
Classifieds

These are *beside* all the other scripts that do not need to be made  
available as products.

So, everybody does need to know:

1)  how to wrap up properly a family of working scripts that do a  
particular job (or it could be just one script)
2)  make this bundle a Zope/Plone product
3) possibly having a control panel from the Plone interface
4) and possibly having a portlet to display the output on a Plone site.

So, it would be great if you could write an article about those four  
steps, and you could possibly use Mallikarjun script as a the example.

You wrote in the past weeks some very lucid how-tos and articles, and  
it would be a great service to everybody (even the Zope/Plone  
community) if you could write this one too.

Regarding the priority of this, Jagrata should decide.
