The freedom to create derivative works, perhaps. What's to stop you from
using it, creating a spec, and having someone clean room engineer better
software? Which is not the same as reverse engineering. You can
copyright an implementation of an idea, but not the idea itself.

Again, if a fully free and open (functionally equivalent) content
publishing and delivery tool existed, we'd look at it.
