Cutting out monopolies and unneeded intermediaries is almost the only
thing on which there is unanimity in this list, I believe. The method
above, however, even if it should really come from Stallman, is crap.

An author must have control on how to distribute his work. GPL, closed
whatever, has long as he is the one who decides.

A user must have control of where his money goes. Britney Spears songs
would be downloaded millions times more than Stallmans writings. I
have nothing against Britney Spears remaining thousands times richer
than Stallman, but sure like hell I want that not even one of my
pennies goes to Spears until *I* actually decide to listen to her
music.
 
If my money had to go to authors I don't like, it could be
theoretically OK if limited to those still unknown, and they had right
to it only for a limited period, to be given a possibility.
Considering the millions of fake stuff which would surface and be
"published" only to get a piece of the cake, I'm even against this
option.
