No one's being forced to study for it in any particular way. Since it's a hands on certification, you really have to DO things more than just read to understand it. The courseware has exercises for this, but just administering Red Hat Linux machines and experimenting will also prepare you. Red Hat has, at my last count, I think 5 manuals available for its latest version both in print and online for your reading pleasure, as well And, being a hands on certification, you're using the distribution itself to take the exam. This isn't a multiple choice computerized test. (Well, there's one multiple choice bit, it's the shortest and easiest. When I took it was paper and pencil, which seems pretty open source to me, but I took it pretty early on.) [All stated from publicly available information.
