I assume you mean that the semantic web can only be built if the
documents put online have an internal structure and this can be opened
and indexed at will by the search engine, and that "closed" documents
would completely nullify this effort, right?

In any case, what do you mean by "my documents"? Files that you have
written, stored on your drive? Or web pages you are interested in, of
which you can make your own index?
