Why not make a buck in the process ?

If PHP is your poison (it's not right now, but I assure you it's an 
interesting and widely used language), check out the Horde project and 
its bounty at http://www.horde.org/bounties/.

Or participate in the Ubuntu project.  Mark Shuttleworth is willing to 
pay big bucks for different projects to be worked upon.  Grab your

These are just the two that I know about.  I am pretty damn sure other 
projects have similar system.  It is a shame to see bounties going 
unclaimed for months when so many people complain about lack of jobs in 
programming and IT.
