fiber splice sleeves and fiber sizes

Until recently, I'd only worked with 900um (zipcord style) strands of
fiber. Now we're doing lots with 250um strand (outdoor fiber in gel
filled tubes).
Just wondering, are the standard 60mm long splice sleeves equally
suitable for 250um applications? Will they shrink enough for a strong
fit?
