Shell account

I no longer operate an ISP, but I am hoping whoever is left here can help.

The ISP I now use is dropping shell access.  Can anyone recommend a good
paid shell account provider simply to run Pine to read email via IMAP?  I
don't want a free account and the issues those have.

Many of the shell account providers strongly emphasize the use of IRC,
eggdrops, and bots.  I want someone who will be around a while and is
simply doing this for IRC kiddies.  I am seriously looking at Panix.com
simply because they have been around forever and seem to be pretty serious
about shell accounts.  They are a little expensive though.
