The Solaris FTP daemon (At least up to Solaris 9) does not do a
chroot'ed environment by default. I don't know that the Solaris FTPD
can even do a chroot'ed environment. I have used a third party FTP
daemon on Solaris when trying to do any serious FTP stuff.
