Let's say that if "germs.co.za" makes money for you simply because
you had the foresight to register the domain when no one else did and
you think that is cool, then you're one of those people who also think
derivatives are the coolest thing since sliced bread.

Me, I think that we have reached a point in human development where
we need to stop and consider why we reward handsomely total lack of
concrete productivity and perhaps we ought to just stop doing it because
the amount of concrete production (poorly, very poorly rewarded, ask
any farm labourer, here in South Africa or anywhere else where real
production does occur) required to sustain the rewarding of abstract
"productivity" is beyond sustainability.

In other words, I get paid unreasonable amounts of money for my
intellectual skills, more accurately, for using my intellectual skills
to provide challenges for other intellectuals to apply their skills to
and get rewarded equally unreasonably, so we can all spend money to
buy the essentials (food, shelter, etc.) and the superfluous (cars,
iphones, etc.) that others produce who almost certainly can't afford
them themselves.

It's a losing game and I'm discovering that I find playing it harder and
harder to do.  It's our planet, but also the majority of the people on
the planet, that are losing it so you and I can keep winning.
