Jaco van der Schyff asked, at the beginning of this thread (which has raised some great issues, BTW): - > do I have any other options other than picking a new domain name? No. IANAL, but it would seem to me that your entire claim to the name boils down to 'you feel like it', or words to that effect. You have no prior investment in the name, no ongoing business with that name, no registered company name and no registered trademark or copyright. Should you choose to pay the R10,000 for ADR, I'm pretty sure that you'd lose. When competing claims have equal merit, the first to register wins. That was the other guy, not you. Please consult a real lawyer. I can refer you to some that are both knowledgeable and honest (yes, really!) if you wish. However, in my opinion, your choices are as follows: - 1 Pay sedoparking.com what they want for the name of your choice, or 2 Choose another name, or 3 Give up and try something else. HTH and good luck! Kind regards, William Stucke (Speaking in my private capacity, of course) _______________________________________________ IOZ mailing list [email protected] http://lists.internet.org.za/mailman/listinfo/ioz
