UniForum DNS Training course dates for September 2011

At the recently held DNS Courses that UniForum SA sponsors...

16 Students attended the Intro DNS course in Midrand,
8 Students attended the Advanced DNS course in Cape Town.

The Intro course included an exercise in setting up a Recursive DNS
server (both BIND and Unbound software) with Root Certificates for the
newly signed root using RFC5011 (automatic certificate roll-over). This
is probably something everyone running a Recursive DNS server needs to
learn how to do.

The Advanced course also included exercises in DNSSEC, OpenDNSSEC and
Split-DNS.

The next set of courses will be held in September, just after i-Week.

One idea is to run an extended Intro Course in Durban which would last
five days (Monday 26th to Friday 30th of September). This would be the
Intro Course with T-SIG, Split-DNS and DNSSEC added on. In order for
this to happen, we are looking for a Training Venue in Durban.

The Classroom should cater for 16 Students, each with a Linux
(X-windows) loaded PC. The presenters need a computer projector (and
screen) and whiteboard. All PC's should be networked together with three
extra points for the two presenters and a server. There should be
Internet Access for the classroom. The room should be Air-Conditioned.
UPS power and Stand-By Generators are always welcome. Two Coffee Breaks
and Lunch catering is also needed. This could become a re-occurring
booking. Please contact me (Mark Elkins) if you can assist.

If you can assist with these requirements - then we can run a Durban
Venue (otherwise back to Cape Town for a three day Intro course).

The Intro Course will be followed by a four day Advanced Course in
Midrand, from Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th October.

The Booking System available at http://dnstraining.coza.net.za should be
open before the end of March.
