I've been noticing all sorts of weird stuff on MTN's network the last few days. In and out of their Cape Town network seems to be a big problem. I don't know if they are hair pinning local traffic via London or what but I've been seeing 90-100% packet loss to certain JHB destinations. Also had issues reaching a server hosted on MTN's CT network from the US.
