The consumer is not really represented by anyone as everyone that supposedly
represents the consumer has some sort of agenda or income etc. derived from
the very same consumer.

Any comments to the effect that direct marketing should be outlawed is 
somehow completely ignored or made out to be draconian or somehow
infringing on the rights of businesses to market their offerings. 

Unsolicited direct email marketing,imho is a criminal theft of the average 
consumers money as the consumer is forced to pay for bandwidth to receive
the same unsolicited marketing message.

And now the victim of this theft has to add themselves to an opt out
registry (Please, oh please stop stealing my money mr Direct Marketer)

Evil, the whole unsolicited bulk direct email marketing is criminal and evil!
