Dear industry representatives
We are now only a month away from iWeek 2011. This year's iWeek conference
is taking place from 21-23 September 2011 at the Royal Elephant conference
centre in Centurion:
http://www.iweek.org.za
iWeek 2011 has some special numerical significance, and marks 15 years of
ISPA, 10 years of iWeek and 10 years of ISPA's Teacher Training program. For
this year's conference we chose an overall theme fitting some of the global
events of the past year:
"How does the Internet change societies?"
To help us answer this question, we have invited a number of interesting
speakers from all over the planet, including:
- Ramy Raoof: Online Media Officer, Egyptian Initiative for
Personal Rights
- Juan du Toit: Head, International Business Development &
Marketing, MXit
- Dr. Roger Leslie Cottrell: SLAC National Accelerator
Laboratory, Stanford University
On Friday morning the session will be kicked off with a "Trip down memory
lane" as we take a look back at two decades of Internet access in South Africa.
If you haven't already registered, you can do so on the iWeek web site:
http://www.iweek.org.za
As always, attendance at iWeek is entirely free. If you can't personally
make it this year, please consider sending one of your staff members to
represent your company and make the most of this opportunity to network with
folks from many South African ISPs and from Internet organisations around
the world.
We look forward to seeing you all at iWeek next month!
Kind regards
ISPA Events Working Group
