Hi All, One of our client's is on a Neotel Broadband Wimax solution (2Mbps Down) - They are experiencing both very slow and unstable connections. Occasionally during the day the internet will grind to extremely slow speeds. For example a download may experience a burst of approx 100kB/sec and then drop to around 3-4kB/sec for a while and then spike up again. Email get's backlogged and often internet banking sites time out. In order for the client to take this matter up with Neotel they would need to somehow put together evidence to show that it is the connectiona and not lan usage - What would the best way be to do this check? Client has checked firewall / traffic monitoring and this is not the problem. From what i can think it is either very high db noise on the TX/RX on the wireless (CISCO Wireless Router - Small Business Pro - I think SRP500) or the connection itself is a piece of crap. Speedtest.net shows some interesting results. To Vodacom the pings are in excess of 3000ms with standard throughput. To Telkom Rosebank (SAIX) latency is 4ms but transfer rates are 0.22Mbps down. Does anyone know of any other conclusive tool(s) that we can use to point out that the connection is unacceptable M _______________________________________________ IOZ mailing list [email protected] http://lists.internet.org.za/mailman/listinfo/ioz
